Mutton Roast

  • Ingredients:

  • Mutton – 500g (cut into medium pieces)
  • Onion – 2 big
  • Fennel seeds (perumjeerakam) – ½ tsp
  • Green Chilli – 2
  • Ginger garlic paste – 3 tsp
  • Red chilli powder – 1 tsp
  • Turmeric powder – ½ tsp
  • Coriander powder – 3 tsp
  • Garam masala – 1 ½ tsp
  • Curry leaves – few
  • Oil
  • Salt
  • To Marinate
  • Red chilli powder – 1 tsp
  • Turmeric powder – ½ tsp
  • Coriander powder – 2 tsp
  • Pepper powder – 1 tsp
  • Lemon juice – 1 tsp

METHOD:


  1. Wash and squeeze mutton so as to remove water well from it.
  1. Mix all the ingredients to marinate. Add little water into it and make it to a paste
  1. Add mutton pieces into it and mix well
  1. Pressure cook it till mutton is cooked.(I usually go for 4-5 whistles)
  1. Heat oil in a pan and add sliced onion and curry leaves.
  1. Cook with the pan covered and stir in between till onion turns brown in colour
  1. Add ginger garlic paste, green chilli and cook for 2-3 min.
  1. Add red chilli, turmeric, coriander powder, garam masala and cook for 2-3 min.(Sprinkle little water if it's becoming dry)
  1. Add cooked mutton (all contents of cooker) and mix well.
  1. Cook in medium flame by stirring in between till mutton is dry and becomes dark brown in colour. Serve hot.
